About Payments and Booking
Q. How is the initial consultation conducted?
A. For Wedding Planner or Photographer. The initial consultation date is scheduled over the phone when you call or by email. We will then meet in person for a Personal one-on one consultation. Please take the time to look over the packages on this site before we meet. All consultations are free.
Q. How do we book our date?
A. When booked as your Wedding Planner or Photographer, there is an signed contract and a non-refundable 50% down deposit. The deposit is deducted from the final total. In order to help keep our cost as low as possible and continue to pass our savings on to our clients, we do not currently accept credit cards. We do however, accept payments via PayPal, which allows you to use your credit card if you so choose. You do not need a PayPal account to make a credit card payment. We accept personal checks for initial booking payment only; however, cash, cashiers checks and certified money order for the final payment is accepted. Please make checks or certified money orders out to Special Moments Pro. The balance is due fourteen (14) days before the event. Returned checks are subject to a $40 returned check fee.
Q. How far in advance should we book our wedding Planner or Photographer?
A. For Wedding Planner: Depending on your package it could be between 6 months to 1 month. For Weddings, Bridal and Engagements: If you plan on having a wedding during a popular or busy period of the year, such as warmer months or during a holiday, it's always a good idea to book your wedding photographer 12 months to 18 months in advance. If you plan to marry during a quieter time of the year, we'd recommend at least 10 months in advanced. For All other events we recommend at lease 3 weeks advance notice. But for starters call to see if your date is open.

A. Photographer-Over 30 years.

Q. What is your Photographic style?
A. My style incorporates a mixture of Photojournalism and Traditional photography, with emphasis on telling the story of the day by capturing key moments of your wedding as they unfold, e. g. the emotions, the quiet times the laughter, the holding of hands, the smiles and all the details throughout the day makes your event special and unique!
Q. What kind of photography equipment do you typically bring with you on the day of an event?
A. I bring high end professional Nikon digital cameras and we carry redundant amount of backup equipment so we are never vulnerable to equipment failure. I also use top grade "fast" Nikon lenses which allows us to capture detailed & sharp images in low light environments that wouldn't be possible with the lesser quality lenses. We also bring power flash units as well as remote power pack and slave light units.
Q. How many photographers work with you?
A. At Special Moments Pro. I am the primary photographer and in most cases one assistant/additional photographer is in attendance along with one model assistant. With our packages you may hire a Wedding Planner.
Q. Do you use film or digital?
A. Digital only.
Q. Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Q. Do you have replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
A. Yes. I have associations and many other professional photographers. In an usual circumstance that I would not be able to attend and photography event one of my colleagues would replace me with your approval.
Q. Do you require that the client provide your meal?
A. General we do not like to put the camera down. Yes, a meal would be gratefully appreciated to ensure that the Wedding Planner, Photographer and assistants remains on the assigned task until completion and does not miss any important events. We will eat at the same time the couple eats in order to be finish on time.

Q. How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing? Will we be able to view them on line?
A. Proofs are available on a Online Gallery for viewing and downloading 1- 2 weeks after your event. Bridals and Weddings may take up to 4 weeks.
Q. Do you provide the digital files of the image to the client and how will the DVD be presented to them?
A. Yes, Depending on the package ordered, you will receive the best images on a high resolution DVD/CD. You will receive it the same day you receive your photos. Your DVD will be presented to you in a Personal Photo Case. You may come to the studio and pick it up or it can be mailed to you with a shipping fee. All packages come with a Personal copyright letter.
Q. What kind of albums do you provide?
A. Depending on your package, our inventory features a variety of professional albums. We provide Digital Kingston Flush Mount Lay Flat Album, Digital Majestic and Tiara Premium Albums, Premium Slip-in and Traditional Slip-in Albums. You can also order an album without purchasing a package. (Interest free payment plan available).
Q. Will I be able to design my Album?
A. Yes, you can design your album depending on your needs and budget.
Q. When will the client get the final album?
A. 2 - 3 weeks for Slip-in Album, 4 - 6 weeks for Digital Albums. Albums are not designed or ordered until photos have been ordered from the Online Gallery and the client has approve of the photos and design.
Q. Is there a sitting fee?
A. No. But during peek wedding or holiday season their maybe a small fee to hold your weekend date.
Q. Are there any fees for distance travel locations?
A. For Wedding the Planner and Photographer, there are no travel fees for locations within 50 miles radius from Richmond, VA. Events outside of our no charge zone will have a mileage charge of $0.55 per mile (after the first 50 miles). Events requiring overnight stay or commercial travel will have additional travel charges. You will be given an exact quote of any travel fees before you book your event or photo shoot.
Q. Do you offer discounts?
A. We design our prices to be extremely competitive and afforable for your money than our competition. We charge a fair price for our services and quality. For this reason we do not offer any discounts for our Photography. But most of the Wedding Planning packages have discounts also see Headshots for discounts.
Q. Are you available to shoot extra hours? If so, how much do you charge for extended service?
A. Yes, $100 per additional hour, prorated at fifteen minutes intervals.
Q. Do you charge hourly or full day?
A. Our prices are organized by packages. I do have hourly rates for unique requirements and extended services.
Q. How soon after the event will we be able to get the pictures? Will we be able to view our proofs on line?
A. Bridal take 4 weeks depending on the package size. Other photos may take up to 2 weeks. Proof of photos can be seen on our On line Gallery for ordering, viewing and sharing with friends. After you have viewed the images and pick your choices, allow an extra week for processing and delivery.
Q. Do you offer framing service for enlargements
A. Depending on your package and your needs, we offer framing services for bridal, engagement or wedding day enlargements. Our framing services are much less expensive than having a custom frame done elsewhere.
Q. Do you have Portrait Sessions and how long does a session last?
A. Yes. We we do portrait session with Engagement, Bridal, Family, High School Seniors. They can be shot in studio or on location. Depending on your package and your needs, a typical photo shoot would last 2 hours.
Q. How may photos do you take during a Bridal or Engagement Photo shoot?
A. On a Wedding shoot I may shoot anywhere between 900-1000 frames. For all other portrait session anywhere between 300-600. That being said you will not see all of those shots. I will edit down for delivery to an average between 300-400 (Wedding) 200-300 ( Portrait session) images. I don't have a set number that I insist upon but rather let quality dictate the number I believe my clients hire me because they want great shots and I will only show what meets my quality standards. I will never sacrifice quality for quantity nor do I ever want to provide so many images you get tired of looking through all of them. Providing only the quality images makes selecting images for your album or wall art much easier and much more enjoyable experience.
Q. Do you reserve the right to publish the photo?
A. When we initiate a contract there is an area where you may give me permission to publish the photograph.
Q. Are your images re-touch/ photo shop?
A. Yes. All images that you have chosen on the Online Gallery are high quality professionally re-touch and color corrected. Unless told otherwise. Some photos that are photo shop may have an extra charge depending on your package and needs.
Q. For the photo session, is there anything special I need to bring?
A. On location.. Bring your payment, extra outfits, make up, you may bring props for special shots. (Instruments, knitting needles, skate board, cell phones, hats, etc. Sorry no animals). Remember to be on time so your session can go smoothly without rushing and don't forget your smile!!
